Selçuk Şahin ( born January 31, 1981 in Tunceli ) is a Turkish football player. Şahin is a defensive midfielder.

Career

Selçuk worked as a waiter before he became a professional footballer. In 1999 he signed for second division Hatayspor his first professional contract. After seven stakes in his first season he was 2000/2001 regular player and scored three goals in 33 games. In 2001 he moved to Istanbulspor and stood there in the season 2001/2002, 31 times in the starting lineup. In the following season, he played in 32 operations from the beginning. 2003/2004 Selçuk hired at Fenerbahçe Istanbul, completed 25 league games, it scored a goal and won with the team the Turkish championship. In the season 2004/2005 you could defend the title.

After strong performances at Istanbulspor he was a regular in the Turkish U21 national team, for which he completed 19 missions and scored two goals. At the FIFA Confederations Cup, he played for the senior team, finishing with the third place.

His contract with Fenerbahce runs until 30 June 2015. He wears the number 21
