Seleucus III Ceraunus

Seleucus III. Keraunos ( Greek: Σέλευκος Κεραυνός ) or Soter ( Greek: Σωτὴρ; * 243 BC; † 223 BC) was the eldest son of Seleucus II Kallinikos and for a short time ( 226-223 BC ) king of the Seleucid kingdom. His nickname was "thunder" and "savior ", his birth name was Alexander.

226 BC he succeeded his father Seleucus II as king of the Seleucid kingdom after he is fatally injured in a fall from his horse. 223 BC, he was assassinated in Asia Minor by members of his army during a campaign against Attalus I of Pergamum.
