Seli (Tallinn)

Seli is a district (Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn. It is located in Lasnamäe district ( German " Laaksberg ").

Description

The municipality has 13,152 inhabitants (as of 1 May 2010). He is the most easterly of the sixteen districts Lasnamäes.

The district was to the Soviet period, also called Lasnamäe V mikrorajoon or Kallaku mikrorajoon. Him dominate prefabricated high-rise buildings in the Soviet style. They were - as very Lasnamäe - mashed in the 1970s and 1980s from the ground. The goal was the massive settlement of Russian-speaking citizens from other parts of the Soviet Union, should be created for the modern living-room.

East of Seli extends the green landscape protection area around the natural course of the river Pirita River ( Pirita Jõgi ).
