Sella Towers

The Sella Towers (Italian Torri del Sella ) are part of the Sella mountain Stocks and consist of a total of five individual towers:

  • First Sella Tower ( Torre Prima di Sella, 2533 m ⊙ 46.50929211.775005 )
  • Second Sella Tower (Seconda Torre di Sella, 2598 m ⊙ 46.51003111.777215 )
  • Third ( and highest) Sella Tower ( Torre Terza di Sella, 2696 m ⊙ 46.51100511.778266 )
  • Fourth Sella Tower ( Torre di Quarta Sella 2605 m, 46.5129111.779468 ⊙ ) and
  • Fifth Sella Tower ( Quinta Torre di Sella, 2500 m ⊙ 46.5110511.77999 ).

First ascent

The first and the second Sella Tower (both in the normal route I) were both first climbed on August 9, 1899 by Otto Ampferer, Wilhelm Hammer and Karl Berger, the third tower on the north side canyon to the second tower ( IV, III) by Karl Berger and E. Franzelin on 29 July 1900. fourth Sella Tower, more a stem of Piz Ciavazes, was first climbed on 25 August 1906, the north side canyon to the third tower (III ) of S. Häberlein, Käthe Bröske and K.
