Senftenbach

Senftenbach is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Ried in the Innviertel with 747 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Ried.

Geography

Senftenbach is located on 414 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 3.3 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 5 km. The total area is 9.8 km ². 19.4% of the area is forested, 73.5 % of the area is used for agriculture.

Blazon: Argent, a blue, S- shaped rod, each accompanied in the curvature of the lower right corner of a red bugle with introspective to the right mouth and red ribbon and left up of a red, geradarmigen Tatzenkreuz. The municipality colors are red - yellow-blue.

History

The place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly bavarian, it belongs since 1814 finally to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.
