The Sengelsberg the hawk forests Bergland is a 449 m above sea level. NN high mountain peaks in the background hawk forests Niedenstein in northern Hesse Schwalm- Eder-Kreis.

Geographical location

The Sengelsberg in the southern part of the rear hawk forest knolls located at the junction of the eastern Long mountains. In the nature park Hawk Forest, the wooded mountain rises about 1 km north-east of the standing in the center of the Niedensteiner core city church. West flows past the EMS inflow Wiehoff.

History

History was the mountain in 1435 mention when the Hessian Landgrave Louis I the knight Hermann dog from the nearby Kirchberg farms in Niedenstein, the deserted village Swasbach ( Schwolsbach ), yards in Wich Village, Emserberg, Hausen (now deserted ) and the Sengelsberg bestowed with accessories as a castle and fief, as she had previously occupied Simon Homberg.
