Åženkal Atasagun

Senkal Atasagun (* 1942 in Kars ) was director of the Turkish intelligence service Millî istihbarat Teşkilâtı ( WİTH ).

Atasagun graduated from Galatasaray High School in Istanbul and the Department of Political Science at the University Pierre Mendès-France in Grenoble Grenoble II. After his time as a reserve officer, he joined in 1967 at the WİTH. He worked in various positions within the Bureau of Intelligence and operations. Atasagun is an expert in counter-espionage. He was Deputy Head of the Region İstanbul and twice Secretary of State for the Ankara region and abroad in Brussels. In 1997, he worked in the foreign service in London. On February 11, 1998, he became director of the WİTH. Atasagun went on 11 June 2005 board.

Atasagun is married and speaks French and English.
