SenožeÄe
Senožeče ( Senosetsch German, Italian Senosècchia ) is a village in the Slovenian community Divača in the karst area of Primorska ( Littoral Region ).
The town is located 553 meters above sea level and is one of 611 inhabitants ( 2002). The parish church is the hl. Consecrated Bartholomew and belongs to the Diocese of Koper. In the Middle Ages Senosetsch, originally a fief of the Patriarchate of Aquileia, held by the lords of Duino ( Tybein ); these were inherited from the 1399 Walseern. 1470/72 sold Reinprecht, the last Walseer, Senosetsch with Castell and toll among other goods to the Habsburg Emperor Friedrich III.
1869 here, a district court has been installed.
