Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility

As a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility ( SCIF ) is used by the security agencies of the United States, each area designated, to be stored, used and discussed in the sources, procedures, and Sensitive Compartmented Information ( SCI). The term was introduced under the Director of Central Intelligence and continued by the Director of National Intelligence. Compartmented area as a space having one or more designated areas, or an area that are divided in a controllable manner. Corresponding accreditation is required to ensure the safety of secret operations.
