Senyera

The Senyera ( katal. ) or Señera (Spanish ) is a flag shape, which consists of four red stripes on a yellow background. It is the flag of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia in northeastern Spain. In the Catalan language senyera is generally a synonym for flag due to a antonomasia is in particular the flag of Catalonia meant.

Supposedly the Senyera ( 1159 ) is the oldest flag in the world. According to a legend from the 14th century, the history of the flag dates back to the 9th century.
