Serapio Calderón

Serapio Calderón Chirinos (* 1843 in Paucartambo, † 1922 in Cusco ) was temporarily in 1904, the President of Peru.

Calderón was born in 1843 in Paucartambo in today's region of Cusco. He was Rector of the University of Cusco, MP and President of the Regional Court. Under Manuel Candamo Calderón in 1903, second vice-president. The first vice president was Lino Alarco, who died before his inauguration. Therefore, Calderón was appointed president on May 7, 1904 due to the death of Candamo. On 18 April, he had, at first temporarily, assumed the office of attorney from diseased Candamo. He called new elections, which were won by José Pardo y Barreda. Calderón handed the presidency on September 24, 1904 at Pardo.

He died in 1922 in Cusco.
