Sergei Istomin

Sergei Istomin (Russian: Сергей Истомин ) is a Russian musician (cello and viola da gamba ).

Life

Istomin began cello studies at the age of six years at the Moscow Gnessins school for young talent, from which he graduated with a bachelor's degree. At the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, he continued his studies at Valentin Feighin where he acquired a master's degree. In the United States, at the Oberlin Conservatory and at the Institute of Baroque performance practice in Ohio, he attended the master class for viola da gamba with Catharina Meints.

Sergei Istomin works as principal cellist with the orchestra Anima Eterna together, occurs with solo and chamber music programs, along with the Forte pianist Viviana Sofronitsky, Jos van Immerseel and Claire Chevallier, as a trio with Midori Seiler and Jos van Immerseel and with the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra.

In addition, Istomin came at the Festival de Beaune, La Folle Journée de Nantes, Festival van Vlaanderen Brugge, Festival de Saint requirers, Festival d' Aix -en- Provence, Festival de Wallonie, the Schleswig -Holstein Music Festival and the Festival Sopron in Hungary on.

His repertoire ranges from Baroque, Classical and Romantic on the way to contemporary music. Currently, the Russian- French-Canadian musician who lives in Belgium.
