Sergey Dmitriev

Sergei Dmitriev Igorewitsch (Russian: Сергей Игоревич Дмитриев, born March 19, 1964 in Leningrad, Soviet Union ) is a retired Russian football player and current coach. Since 2009 he is an assistant coach at FC Saturn-2 Moscow Oblast, the amateur team of the Russian Premjer -division club Saturn Ramenskoje.

Career

Dmitriev began his career at Smena Leningrad and continued them at Dynamo Leningrad. Until 1981, he played in the youth teams of the club, before he was included in the squad of the professional team. In 1982 he became a member of the amateur team of Zenit Leningrad. Only a year later, 1983, he was assigned to the senior squad. This he remained seven years faithfully until 1989, he received an offer from FK Dynamo Moscow, which he accepted also. After only half a year he went in July 1989 for city rivals CSKA Moscow, where he stood until the beginning of 1991 under contract. At this time Dmitriev received an offer from Spain Deportivo Xerez. He remained there, however, only half a year, in July 1991, he returned to CSKA Moscow. In the first half of the 1990s Dmitriev changed hands several times in rapid succession and the club. In January 1992, he went to Austria for the now-defunct FC Stahl Linz, in July 1992, according to Germany for VfL Bochum, in July 1993 to Switzerland for FC St. Gallen and in January 1994 to Israel Hapoel Ashkelon. There he was never used, and so he returned after a year in his home country. In Russia, he stood again for Zenit St Petersburg under contract before two years later, the FK Tyumen moved to Siberia in early 1997. Already in July 1997 Dmitriev went to Spartak Moscow in January 1998 to Dynamo Saint Petersburg, in July 1999, to Kristall Smolensk, shortly afterwards to Dynamo Saint Petersburg and most recently, in 2000, to Svetogorets Svetogorsk. In this club he ended his active career in 2003.

Internationally

Overall Dmitriev graduated six games for the national football team of the USSR. On 2 February 1985 in a friendly match against Morocco, he scored his only goal for the USSR. Dmitriev was also in the squad of the USSR at the UEFA EURO 1988 in the Federal Republic of Germany, but did not play.

Coach stations

After the end of his career as a player Dmitriev worked as an assistant coach at first Svetogorets Svetogorsk and Dynamo Saint Petersburg. In this role, he also worked with FK Anzhi Makhachkala and 2006 at FK Spartak Nizhny Novgorod in 2004 and 2005. The Office of the coach, he took over in 2007 with Dynamo Saint Petersburg. On 15 April 2007, announced by the football committee of Brunei, that Dmitriev should be the new coach for the Bruneian national football team. In May 2008 he made ​​his debut. Dmitriev wanted to strengthen the cohesion of the team and improve technique and strategy. Goal was to qualify for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2008. So far it should not come though. On 13 August 2008 he was replaced by the Croats Vjeran Simunic as coach of the Brunei national football team. In 2009 he assumed the position as assistant coach at FC Saturn-2 Moscow Oblast, the farm team of Saturn Ramenskoje.
