Sergey Makarov

Sergei Alexandrovich Makarov (Russian: Сергей Александрович Макаров, English transcription Sergey Makarov, . Born March 19, 1973 in Podolsk ) is a Russian javelin thrower, who after winning the title achieved his greatest success at the 2003 World Championships in Paris.

Makarov won at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 the bronze medal in the javelin. Another bronze medal he won at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. His best jump of 92.61 meters he threw in 2002 in Sheffield.

Sergei Makarov is 1,92 m tall, his competition weight is 100 kg. His father is the Olympic silver medalist in the javelin in 1980, Alexander Fyodorovich Makarov. Sergei Makarov is married with javelin thrower Oksana Owtschinnikowa.
