Sergio Ballesteros

Sergio Martínez Ballesteros (often simply Ballesteros, born September 4, 1975 in Burjassot, Valencia ) is a Spanish football player. He is captain of UD Levante in the Primera División.

Life

Ballesteros began his career as a youth player at UD Levante and first played in the first team at this club in 1995 in the Segunda División B. At a meeting of the Copa del Rey against CD Tenerife was at that time working in Tenerife coach Jupp Heynckes attention to him, and there was an obligation for the club in the Canary Islands and his first appearance in La Liga on January 3, 1996. Until 2000 it brought Ballesteros to 102 inserts for Tinerfeños.

He then spent a year as a regular player at Rayo Vallecano to in 2001 for three seasons at Villarreal to commit (81 games). In the years 2004 to 2008 he played for RCD Mallorca ( 103 inserts) in the Balearic Islands, in 2008 to return to his parent club. UD Levante was the following season 2009/10 - as today - one of the oldest teams in the Spanish professional football and managed yet with a walkover with only three away defeats promotion to the Premier Division. Although Ballesteros could keep División with his age mate 2010/11 only with difficulty in the Primera ( 15th place ), followed early in the season 2011/12 on the eighth matchday surprise of the temporary takeover of the standings ahead of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
