Sergio Cofferati

Sergio Cofferati ( born January 30, 1948 in Sesto ed Uniti ) is an Italian politician of the Partito Democratico.

Life

Cofferati studied electrical engineering. He was from 1969 to 1974 as a clerk in the office for work organization of the company Pirelli Bicocca ( ​​Milan ) operates. From 1994 to 2002 he was General Secretary of the Trade Union Generale Italiana del Lavoro Confederazione. From 2004 to 2009 was Cofferati mayor of Bologna. Since 2009, he sits as a member of the European Parliament.
