Sérgio Eduardo Ferreira da Cunha

Sérgio Eduardo Ferreira da Cunha, short Serginho (born 15 October 1972 Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian footballer.

Career

Serginho played for Brazil in a game at the Junior World Cup in 1991. He competed in his home for lesser known clubs: Associação Portuguesa Atlética (RJ), Olaria Atlético Clube, America FC ( RJ), Vitória Futebol Clube ( ES). At the age of nearly 22 years, he moved to Madeira, Portugal to CD Nacional Funchal and was instrumental in the rise of the club from the third through the Liga de Honra to the Primeira Liga, where the club finally established.

In the Primeira Liga 2003/ 04, already towards the end of his career, Serginho scored in 19 games twice and qualified through fourth place with Nacional for the first time in the club's history for the UEFA Cup; after another season, he went into lower divisions in his native country to Juventude de Caxias and Estácio de Sá Futebol Clube and Portugal ( União da Madeira and UD Santana, both in Madeira ) before he hung 2007 football boots on the nail. He was the all-time top scorer of the Nacional with 100 goals and had 250 the majority of assignments for this club.
