Sérgio Santos

Sérgio Dutra Santos, known as Serginho or Escadinha (born 15 October 1975, in Diamante do Norte ) is a Brazilian volleyball player.

Career

Santos began his career in 1998 at EC Palmeiras São Paulo. In 2001 he gave his debut in the World League in the Brazilian national team, who then won the contest. From 2003 to 2007, and in 2009 was followed by other victories in the World League. 2002 Brazil was with Santos by a success in the final against Russia for the first time world champion. The following year the team won the World Cup with Santos. In the 2003 / 04 season, played the Libero for EC Banespa. At the 2004 Olympic Games Santos won with Brazil by defeating Italy the gold medal. He was then obliged by the Italian first division Copra Piacenza. With the club he won the Top Teams Cup 2006. During the same year, Brazil defended at the World Cup in Japan by defeating Poland the title. 2007 also managed the national team before a home crowd of success at the Pan American Games.
