Sericornis

Sericornis frontalis females

Sericornis is a genus of small, mainly insectivorous birds that belong to the zoological family of the South Seas warblers ( Acanthizidae ).

Features

The plumage is dashed or only ventrally. A supraorbital stripe is present or absent. The primary coverts are plain or with white lace. The species of the genus have a moderately long tail. The beak is moderately long to long, narrow and straight. The eggs are cream-colored yellow-brown and mottled umber. The speckles condense often to the thick end to one or more washed out umberfarbenen bands.
