Seven Factors of Enlightenment

In Buddhism Bojjhanga called ( Pali ), the Seven Enlightenment Factors. They effect when used consistently according to Buddhist teaching, a liberation of the mind through the practice of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness ( Satipatthana Sutta according to (MN 10) ) and the Anapanasati Sutta (MN 118). They also belong to the basics of Vipassana meditation. They form a subdivision of the 37 necessary things to enlightenment ( Bodhipakkhiyadhamma ).

Mindfulness ( Sati )

In Buddhism, mindfulness has a central status, it is considered as a basic attitude. Being mindful means entirely in the present, to be in the here and now and his feelings, thoughts and actions to be fully aware at every moment. Mindfulness means to be related to itself and to monitor self and to follow him, and also the events, the counterpart to offer up all the attention.

Gesetzesergründung ( Dhamma vicaya )

Under Dhamma vicaya the clear detection of the Buddhist doctrine, understood, and insight into the legal order of the universe.

Willpower ( Viriya )

Under Viriya the willpower, perseverance and effort is understood. This refers to maintaining the efforts in meditation.

Joy ( Piti )

Piti means joy, which is obtained by extraction of inner peace. However, the condition is to overcome the judgmental thinking.

Gestilltheit ( passaddhi )

Under Passadhi refers Gestilltheit and tranquility. This is to promote the physical and mental tension force, which is achieved through meditation. The " delighted " calms the body, a state of rest is reached.

Collection ( Samadhi )

Samadhi lays down the rules of the depression or the Sichversenkens. It is the collection and concentration, the directedness of the mind on a single meditation object. In focusing on the breath of the spirit is free from thoughts, that collection is, above all, emptiness, free ( of thought ) be not to be delivered to the rollercoaster judgmental thinking.

Equanimity ( Upekkha )

Upekkha means that one is indifferent and remains unaffected, ie is free of judgmental distinguish. It's be a perfect resting in itself, also even in a crowd. Equanimity recognizes the equality of living beings, he remarks, by no additions or dislike occur. The mind is completely alone and rests in itself.
