Seweryn Gancarczyk

Seweryn Gancarczyk [ sɛvɛrɨn gantsartʃɨk ] ( born November 22, 1981 in Dębica, Poland ) is a Polish footballer. He is a defender and plays for the Polish first division club Gornik Zabrze.

Career

Association

After his career beginning in the provincial associations Podkarpacie Pustynia and Hetman Zamość the defender moved in 2002 in the Ukraine. He kicked at first for Arsenal Kyiv and Volyn Lutsk. From the 2005/06 season he played for Metalist Kharkiv. Here he showed in the league and in the UEFA Cup always strong performances and became one of the best full-back of the Ukrainian league. For the season 2009/10 he moved back to his native Poland for Lech Poznań. There his contract expired in the summer of 2011. After six months without a club, he signed a contract with ŁKS Łódź until the end of the season 2011/12. After the descent, he moved to Gornik Zabrze.

National

Only on 2 May 2006, he played his first international match for Poland, but was nevertheless appointed two weeks later by coach Paweł Janas in the Polish squad for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany. Here, however, he played a single game. Overall, he played eight times previously for Poland.
