SG Betzdorf

The Sports Community 1906 V. Betz village (short: SG 06 Betzdorf ) is a German football club from the city, in the north of Rhineland- Palatinate city Betzdorf to victory. The club plays in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar. Home ground of the club is the stadium "On the Buhl ".

History

Today's SG Betz village was founded on September 6, 1906 the creation of a football section in the existing Betzdorfer TV. As part of the Clean Lichen divorce the soccer players in 1924 independently under the name Association for Youth and folk games 1906, later Betzdorfer FC 06. After 1934, the Empire Sports Club Betz village had joined, the club was back in 1936 merged with the Betzdorfer TV for Reichsbahn -SG Betz village. After the liquidation of the association, the SG 1945 1947 1906 Betz village was re-established. From 1962 to 1979, the SG was formed together with the railway SV Betzdorf ESG 06 Betz village.

Sports development

A first successful era had the Betzdorfer at times the Reichsbahn -SG, who participated in 1938, 1941 and 1944, three times in the promotion round to Gauliga. After the war the Betzdorfer played no major role for long. From 1947 to 1953 and from 1956 to 1959 and in the 1971/72 season they were all the same at the third-rate amateur league.

Between 1994 and 2007, the SGB played intermittently in the Oberliga West. After relegation in 2006/ 07, the immediate re- ascent was made ​​in the regional league season 2007/ 08.
