SG Dynamo Erfurt

The SG Dynamo Erfurt was a sports club based in the former regional capital Erfurt. She was part of the system of sports communities sports club Dynamo the so-called " security forces " of the GDR ( police, public security, customs ). She became nationally known by their section Judo, while the football section with the exception of the years 1951 to 1953 did not come on the third league addition. Home of the football section of the Thuringian police sports club was the " sports field on the cooling house".

Football section

Predecessor of SG Dynamo Erfurt was founded in Weimar in 1948, SG German People's Police. In the shadow of civil rivals SG Weimar Weimar East or BSG KWU SG DVP succeeded in 1951 as master of the country class Thuringia, the rise in the East German league. In the second season of the 1950 newly created second-highest eastern division of the Police Sports Association was able to secure a fifth place in the league.

When the Dynamo sports association was formed by the merger of the German People's Police Sports Association with the sports teams of the Ministry of State Security and the Customs Administration of the German Democratic Republic on 27 March 1953 it had far-reaching consequences for the SG People's Police Weimar. Similar to the sports communities like Potsdam People's Police or the People's Police Dresden was also the SG VP Weimar dissolved in the founding place and moved to Erfurt. There, the SG played briefly as the " People's Police Erfurt ", from 1953 as " SG Dynamo Erfurt ".

Dynamo Erfurt could not keep the previous place of the Weimar and grew in spite of scarce residue on chemistry Lauscha together with activists from Kaiseroda in the district league Erfurt. 1958 and 1960 rose Dynamo before engine Rudisleben and the second representation of Turbine Erfurt twice in the then third-rate DDR II league. In the GDR football Cup Dynamo Erfurt in 1960 reached the quarter-finals, defeated chemistry hall but clearly with 1:8. With the league reform and the associated resolution of the II DDR -Liga Erfurt played from 1963 again in the district league.

A return to the higher-class soccer succeeded Dynamo Erfurt in the following period no longer. In the 1967/68 season was renamed to " SG Dynamo Erfurt -South " and at the end of the season it came to relegation to the fourth-rate class district. After the reunification of Germany and the dissolution of the East German security forces in 1990, the SG Dynamo broke up. Several sections of the previous SG founded the "Police SV Erfurt ".
