SG Flensburg-Handewitt

The SG Flensburg- Handewitt is a gaming community (GmbH & Co. KG ) from Flensburg ( Flensburg TSB ) and Handewitt ( Handewitter SV) in Schleswig- Holstein, which consists of the departments of the Handball Teams Handewitter SV and TSB Flensburg since 1990.

History

Handball has in Flensburg and Handewitt a long tradition. After the founding of the League, however, failed to Flensburg clubs initially to establish the longer term. The crew of the TSB Flensburg rose in 1980 after just one year again, the SG Soft -Handewitt ( since 1976 Spielgemeinschaft the Handball departments of Handewitter SV and ETSV Flensburg- Soft ) was from 1984, a lift team. 1990 joined the Handball departments of the TSB and the Handewitter SV, but not the ETSV Soft, together with the new SG.

In the second year of the SG came with a season without a loss point of promotion to the First Handball - Bundesliga. The first season ended in disappointing with the sporty descent. Flensburg Arena

Since 2 December 2001, the main stadium of SG Flensburg- Handewitt is the Flensburg -Arena ( until November 2012 Campus Hall ) in Flensburg. It offers 6,500 spectators, including at the largest with 1500 seats standing terrace of the Handball Bundesliga.

Hall Speakers are Michael " Holzi " Holst and Volker Mittmann. Since 2008, Marquardt Petersen official Fan trumpeter of the SG, it occurs during the run ceremony.

Finals of the Champions League 2007

For the first time two teams were from one state over in a Champions League final. The finale of the 2007 disputed THW Kiel and SG Flensburg -Handewitt. Flensburg- Handewitt had in the first game on April 22 venue where the teams split 28:28. The return match ended 29:27 for Kiel, which thus took home the trophy.

SG Flensburg- Handewitt II & III

The second team of SG Flensburg- Handewitt rose in 1992 in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the first season of the Flensburg occupied in the North Season second place. Having them in the financial statement tables always occupied positions in the midfield in the following years, the team grew from 1999 to the Regionalliga. In 2001 and 2003, the second score to each of the return to the second league, but they managed not to keep the class in subsequent seasons. In the 2012/13 season the team played in the 3rd league, from which they descended into the league after this season.

The 3rd team currently playing in the Schleswig- Holstein-Liga.

Youth

The club operates a very successful youth work. Thus, the male A-, B- and C- youth play in the respective highest youth league.
