SG Stadtmitte Berlin

The SG city center was a German sports club from Berlin -Mitte, which briefly appeared in the post-war Berlin football 1945-1947 in appearance. Sports venue was the sports field Chausseestraße, who was on the site of the later Walter Ulbricht Stadium.

The SG center was founded in 1945 and was among the 36 sports groups, who participated in the first post-war Berlin Championship 1945/46. In the Championship Group D, the SGS claimed amazingly well and reached behind eventual runner- SG Berlin Prenzlauer Berg - West second place.

City center so qualified, unlike many successor groups of the former Gauliga Berlin -Brandenburg as a surprise to the newly founded Berlin's city league was there but passed on in lower leagues for a reached behind the SG Suedring eleventh place together with the SG Lichtenberg- Nord and SG Tempelhof.

The sports group later did not work out in one of the traditional Berlin clubs, was dissolved in 1947 and retired from the game.
