Shabba Doo

Shabba Doo ( Adolfo Quiñones bourgeois, born May 11, 1955 in Chicago ) is an American actor, dancer, choreographer and director.

Quiñones grew up in Chicago. He has multi-ethnic background, his father was Puerto Rican and his mother was a African American who Adolfo reared alone from the age of three years. He is one of the inventors of the dance style locking, and was a member of the dance group " The Original Lockers ". Other members were Don " Campbellock " Campbell, Fred " Rerun " Berry and Toni Basil. In the early 1970s, the dance group performed in various U.S. TV shows on, among others, "Soul Train", "Saturday Night Live" or "The Big Show". The lockers were fast becoming the best dance groups on television, got sponsors and played in advertising films. Today the Lockers are considered the pioneers of the locking dance and inspire today many street dancers.

But the big success came through his role as Ozone in the breakdancing film Breakin ' (1984). The film was so well known that a second part, entitled " Breakin ' 2: Electric Boogaloo " followed. Together with his co-star Michael " Boogaloo Shrimp " Chambers had Shabba Doo later in the song " I Feel For You" the Grammy winner Chaka Khan.

Shabba Doo was now very much in demand as an actor, it gave him roles in the films Tango & Cash or in " Lambada ". For the MTV sitcom " Blowin 'Up ", the show was Jamie Kennedy Shabba Doo 's other stations as a choreographer. At the 78th Academy Awards, he choreographed the show for the Oscar - winning song "It 's Hard Out Here for a Pimp " from the rap group Three Six Mafia.
