Shadow of the Beast

Shadow of the Beast is a computer game in the genre of action-adventure Reflections Interactive. First published in 1989 by Psygnosis for the Amiga, it later appeared on a variety of other platforms. Thus, there are also implementations for consoles like Sega Mega Drive, Super NES, Atari Lynx, Sega Master System, C64 (only part 1) and the relatively unknown in Europe FM Towns.

The player controls the main character Aarbron which undergoes the transformation from Beast to man, through the three parts of the saga.

The game had, as measured by the then standards, impressive graphics and sound, and was provided with a number of awards. Parts 2 and 3 appeared in the years 1990 and 1992. Atmospheric music was composed by David Whittaker, he used for samples of real instruments.

As part of the Gamescom 2013 it was announced that there will be a new edition of the game for the PlayStation 4.
