Shaft (Album)
Shaft is the name of which appeared in 1971, fifth album of American soul musician and composer Isaac Hayes. With this album, he achieved his international breakthrough. With the title song of the same movie Shaft, he won several awards:
- Academy Award for Best Original Score at the 44th Academy Awards,
- Golden Globe, Best Original Score in 1971 at the 29th Hollywood Foreign Press Association Awards (1972 )
- Two Grammys at the 14th Annual Grammy Awards ( 1971)
- National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ( NAACP ).
In addition, the album was so successful that it reached platinum status. Isaac Hayes was the first African American artist who managed that.
