Shahbuz District
Şahbuz is a rayon of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The capital of the district is the city Şahbuz.
Geography
The district has an area of 815 km ² and is bordered on the north and east by Armenia. In rayon, which lies on the southern slopes of the Lesser Caucasus, there are several mineral springs.
Population
The rayon had 2009 22.700 inhabitants, these are spread over 23 villages and two larger settlements.
Economy
The region's economy is dominated by agriculture, livestock farming is predominant.
Culture
In the district there are over 30 ancient cities.
