Shahid Beheshti University

The Shahid Beheshti University - (Persian دانشگاه شهید بهشتی Dāneschgāh Shahid -e Beheshti, Shahid Beheshti University English, BSU), formerly the National University of Iran (Persian دانشگاه ملی ایران, English The National University of Iran, NUI ) is a Iranian university. It was founded in Tehran in 1959 and is named after Mohammed Beheshti.

From 1986 to 2007, the medical school under the name was spun off " Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services " as an independent university.

Abroad, Shahid Beheshti University, was known among other things, by the assassination of nuclear scientist Majid Shahriari, who was a professor at her.
