Shane Filan

Shane Filan ( born July 5, 1979 in Sligo as Shane Steven Filan ) is an Irish pop singer who was particularly known for his membership in the band Westlife.

Biography

Filan grew up as the youngest of seven siblings in the small town of Sligo, where his parents ran a snack called Calton café. Early on, he was enthusiastic about music and dance: He learned as a teenager the moonwalk and took part in a school production of the musical Grease. Besides music, horseback riding was one of his favorite hobbies. His parents have a stud at the edge of Sligo, where Shane can still relax by putting on one of his horses. His horse is called " Calton Clover" and his wife Gillian " Calton Sylvester ". The horses' names all begin with " Calton " in the memory of the café.

The first group, of which he was a member IOYOU, came on regional popularity including several television appearances also hardly. From this group the boy band Westlife, whose member he became known as a predominantly young audience from 1999 under the aegis of Boyzone manager Louis Walsh was born. On 15 September 2008, her son Patrick and Michael on January 22, 2010, son Shane Peter came into the world. The family now lives in Surrey near London.
