Shane Joseph

Shane Joseph (born 23 July 1981 in Brooks, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Joseph began his career in 1999 Hockey in the U.S. College Football National Collegiate Athletic Association and played for the team from Minnesota State University, Mankato. In the first two years of the Canadians played unobtrusively, but developed from 2001 becoming one of the top performers. In the season 2002/ 03 and 2003/ 04 Joseph scored the most goals, assists and points for the Mavericks. After the maximum period of five years, which one is allowed to play at a university exhausted, the striker an amateur tryout contract signed at the end of the 2003/04 season with the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League, the former farm team of the San Jose Sharks. With them he reached the divisional semifinals of the playoffs to the Calder Cup. On June 27, 2004 Joseph signed his first professional contract with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. This sent him back to the Barons. There he was still a member of the tribe squad, but never got the chance to prove himself in the NHL.

Then the attacker closed for season 2006/ 07 at the Augsburger Panther of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. After consistently good performances of the then 26 -year-old was duly nominated for the DEL All-Star Game in 2007. At the end of the season he was top scorer and top scorer of the Panther. After another year in Augsburg, the Joseph finished as top scorer again, the management of the DEG Metro Stars became aware of him and was able to take the Canadians for 2008/ 09 in Dusseldorf under contract. With DEG he was runner-up, after they lost the Polar Bear Berlin in the DEL Finals 2009. After he completed the 2009/10 season in Dusseldorf, his contract with the DEG Metro Stars was not renewed. On 10 May 2010 the Iserlohn Roosters announced the commitment of the Canadian. Joseph should occupy a central position in the offensive and make them prolific in Iserlohn.

In July 2011 he moved to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers.
