Sharon Kam

Sharon Kam ( born August 11, 1971 in Israel) is an Israeli clarinetist.

Life

After completing her music studies at the Juilliard School in New York, where she studied clarinet with Charles Neidich, she made her orchestral debut as a 16- year-old with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta. In 1992 she won the International Music Competition of the ARD, followed a year later by the Prix Davidoff.

From now on, followed by concerts with major orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and recitals worldwide. Sharon Kam was "Artist in Residence " of the Bodensee Festival 2011.

For their CD recording of the Weber- concerts with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under Kurt Masur Kam received the 1998 Echo Klassik Prize " Instrumentalist of the Year ". Your CD " American Classics " with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gregor Bühl was awarded the Prize of the German Record Critics.

Sharon Kam is married to the conductor Gregor Bühl since 1994, has three children and lives with her family in Hanover.
