Sharp (crater)

Sharp is an impact crater in the northwest of the lunar front side. It is located northeast of the crater Mairan and southwest of Harpalus, west of the mountain range of the Montes Jura and Sinus Iridium.

Between Sharp and Sharp A an unnamed moon groove extends in a northwesterly direction. Named after the crater Rima Sharp extends further to the west at Mare Frigoris from north to south.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the English astronomer and mathematician Abraham Sharp.
