Shauna Mullin

Shauna Mullin ( born September 11, 1984 in Johannesburg) is a British beach volleyball and former Scottish volleyball player.

Career

As the daughter of a hotelier Mullin lived in her childhood in different countries. Ten years after its birth in South Africa, she moved with her family to Penang in Malaysia, where she played volleyball for the first time. In 1999 she came to Edinburgh. In Scotland, they continued to play volleyball and belonged from 2003 to 2006 to the Scottish national team. In 2003, she participated with the team at the World University Games.

2006 Mullin moved to Bath and moved from the hall into the sand. In 2007, she completed her first international beach tournaments with Zara Dampney. In 2008 she formed a temporary duo Denise Johns, which reached the 17th place at the end of the year in three open tournaments. 2009 Mullin played again with Dampney and completed her first Grand Slam. In the Kristiansand Open Mullin / Dampney came in ninth for the first time in the top ten of a FIVB tournament. 2010 was the 17th place in Shanghai the best result for the British duo.

The following year, Mullin / Dampney managed at the World Championships in Rome as a third of their preliminary round group a place in the main round. There she was defeated in the first game of the later finalists Walsh / May- Treanor from USA. In 2012 she received the starting place of the host for the Olympic tournament in London. When playing at home, they defeated in the first group match the Canadian duo Lessard / Martin, but remained in the other two games and in the Lucky- Loser- round without dropping a set profit. After the tournament Mullin ended her career.
