Shawn Moran

Shawn Moran ( born November 19, 1961 in Lakewood ) is an American Speedway and Long Track driver. He was in Marianske Lazne 1983 Long Course World Champion, despite a broken leg, he secured the 1981 Speedway Junior World Championship and won in 1982 and 1990 with the U.S. speedway team, the World Team Championship.

In the European Speedway professional leagues Shawn Moran started in England for Sheffield and Belle Vue, as well as in Sweden for Hallstavik. Thrice Moran was at the Speedway 's singles World Cup finals, with a 2nd place in 1990 in Bradford represented the best result, although he was disqualified after the race for a doping offense, which stemmed from a drug which him a Swedish physician according to the Overseas finals had administered. 1994 ended Shawn Moran his career.

Personal

His older brother Kelly Moran ( born September 21, 1960; † 4 April 2010) was also just a world-class driver in Speedway, who died at Easter 2010 at a Lungenemphesys.

In 1984, Shawn Moran, a single cover version of Chris Spedding song "Motor Bikin ' from 1975 on. Today Shawn Moran lives in Lower Bavaria Pocking with his German girlfriend and gives Speedway courses for young drivers and novice motorcycle track racing.
