She's the Man - Full my type! is an American comedy film from the year 2006.

Action

Viola Hastings comes from a wealthy family and plays - to the dismay of her mother - in the school of Cornwall football. Since the girls team is disbanded, they tried to get a place in boys, but is rejected. Even her boyfriend Justin, the goalkeeper of the Cornwall team, speaks out against them.

When she learns that her twin brother Sebastian is traveling with his band for two weeks to London, she accepts his role. She disguises herself as a boy to play along to the team of Illyria Preparatory. She manages not initially in the first team. But then impressed "Sebastian" the players by "he" flirts with several attractive women. In chemistry class comes together "Sebastian" with Olivia, on the even "his" roommate Duke Orsino has his eye. "Sebastian" arranges a date between the two and is rewarded with additional soccer training, with the "he" it still creates in the first team.

In the second half, Viola secretly takes over the position of her brother. After a dispute on the court she outs herself as a girl. However, it is accepted by the other players because of their good performance and leads her team to victory.

At the end Sebastian and Olivia get together and Viola and Duke. Viola enters with Duke at the debutant ball.

According to information from the producers of the film William Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night is based. Between the play and the film are several parallels. The names of the main characters ( Viola, Sebastian, Olivia, Duke Orsino ) are equal. Some other names from the Shakespeare comedy dive in movie on: Malvolio as the name of Malcolm's tarantula ( in German synchronization incorrectly with tarantula translated), festivals as Malcolm's last name Valentine as Monique's last name and Andrew and Toby as Dukes friends and Mary as Olivia girlfriend ( Olivia in Shakespeare 's maid ). Shakespeare's comedy plays in Illyria ( Illyria ). In addition, there are some parallels in the plot and references to the original title Twelfth Night.

Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews that of serving as a template play by Shakespeare was not much left. He criticized the script and praised the portrayal of Amanda Bynes who holds screen presence. Berardinelli wrote further that the film is neither wise enough nor funny enough to interest anyone but the female teenagers.

Carina Chocano wrote in the Los Angeles Times on 17 March 2006 that the movie was sweet, what the audience gains. The comedy was good-natured.

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun - Times on March 17, 2006, that he found the story for a second credible. He described the appearance of Amanda Bynes as great (she Achieves greatness ).
