Sheepshanks (crater)

Sheepshanks is a relatively small impact craters on the northeastern edge of the lunar front side, on the northern edge of Mare Frigoris, south of the crater C. Mayer. The rim is hardly eroded. The interior has no central peak. South of the Moon Sheepshanks groove Rima Sheepshanks runs towards the wall level of gardener.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the patron Anne Sheepshanks, sister of the British astronomer Richard Sheepshanks.
