Sheer (ship)
The sheer (and occasionally sheer ) denotes the - viewed in the longitudinal direction of the ship, from the side - curved shape of the upper deck of ships and yachts.
If the curvature is concave ( the freeboard amidships is smaller than at the bow or stern ) point to a positive coverings; reversed the curvature convex, is spoken by a negative deck jump.
To increase the seaworthiness of the upper deck increases either the bow or the stern towards the part sharply.
