Sheila Mae Pérez

Sheila Mae Perez ( born December 10, 1985 in Davao City ) is a Philippine Water Diving. She started in the arts and synchronized diving from the 3- m board.

Pérez came with nine years to the water jump. Since 1997 she trained in Los Baños under Zhang Dehu, the former coach of the Chinese Olympic team in 1980. They earned at the age of 14 years at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney their first international championship and finished the 3 -meter board in the preliminaries 32nd Pérez was the first Filipina who has participated in Olympic Diving competitions. In the following years, she won five titles at the Southeast Asian Games. Moreover, in 2006, she also launched at the Asian Games and won there in the 3 -meter synchronized diving fifth. Pérez was able to qualify for her second Olympics at the World Cup in Beijing. In her home she was considered one of the greatest Olympic hopes, but they could not meet the expectations. In single from the 3 -meter board as she dropped 23 again from after the preliminaries. In the Asian Games 2010 in Guangzhou Pérez was ranked eight from the 1- m- board and fifth from the 3 -meter board.
