Shelby Cannon

Shelby Cannon ( born August 19, 1966 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi ) is a former American tennis player who was successful mainly in the doubles and mixed doubles.

Life

Cannon attended the University of Tennessee and was voted in the top selection All-American three times. In 1987, he reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship, including a victory over top-seeded by Richey Reneberg. After being on the side of Greg Van Emburgh already won the Challenger Tournaments of Las Vegas and Acapulco in 1988, In 1989 he became a professional tennis player and was still standing in the same year in the doubles final of the Canada Masters. The following year, he won with Alfonso Mora in São Paulo his first doubles title on the ATP World Tour. Throughout his career, he could win three ATP doubles titles, including at the ATP Championship Series tournament at Barcelona.
