The Shepherd 's Bush station is a railway station in the British capital London. It is close to the same station on the Central Line in the Shepherd's Bush district. They are recorded as transfer hubs in the Tube Map, although a walk is to be completed by around 100 meters. The Circle / H & C Station Shepherd's Bush Market is 500 meters away.

Geographically, the station on the border of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, as the West London Line predominantly forms the border.

The station is served by trains of the London Overground and Southern, who sail the West London Line.

History

Between 1869 and 1940, was located at the same site, the station Uxbridge Road, which was served by subway trains on the Metropolitan Line. The end of the station came up with the German bombing of London during the Second World War, when the entire West London Line had to cease operations. With the re- commissioning of the passenger traffic on the route 1999, the Uxbridge Road station was not reopened.

Began in 2005 under the direction of then- franchise - holder Silverlink Metro planning the station Shepherd's Bush. The driving force was the Westfield Group, the shopping center Westfield Shopping was built in the immediate vicinity as part of a building development called White City development. In the construction of the station of the reconstruction of the Central Line station and the connection between the two was also provided. For this shopping center and Station Wood Lane Hammersmith & City Line was opened in 2008.

Construction began in 2006 - as the opening date was given in 2007. This was delayed, however, as it turned out, that the distance between the platform and the track was not safety compliant. Finally, the station was opened to traffic on 28 September 2008. The franchise was now changed to London Overground.

Future

In the long term is a 15 - minute cycle planned for the London Overground, the former route of the train is to be linked with that of the railway Gospel Oak - Barking, but for which construction work in Gospel Oak are necessary.
