Shibataea kumasaca (Osaka - fu, Japan)
Shibataea is a genus of bamboo subtribe Shibataeinae.
Description
These small species reach heights of growth between 0.5 and 2 meters. The bands for stem reaches up to 0.7 cm. Pro Nodie grows a branch. The plant species of the genus form clumps.
Etymology
The name Shibataea reminiscent of the Japanese botanist Shibatea Keita ( 1897-1949 ).
Types and distribution
The seven to ten Shibataea species are native to southern China. One type was introduced to Japan as an ornamental plant a long time ago, and is often planted wild in eastern Japan.
