Shieldaig

Shieldaig ( Gaelic: Sìldeag ) is a village on the Applecross Peninsula in Wester Ross in Ross -shire, on the west coast of Scotland.

Shieldaig is a community of about 100 people and has its own school, a small pub, a village hall, which also serves as a chapel, and a church. It is a popular holiday destination and attracts besides those who have interest in sea angling, and visitors of the Torridon Hills, which lie a few kilometers away. Shieldaig stops at the first weekend in August from a community festival. Accessible is the place on the A896 from Kinlochewe and Strathcarron, by Paratransit is a public transport connection to the station Strathcarron at the Kyle of Lochalsh Line.
