Shigenobu Nakamura

Shigenobu Nakamura (Japanese中 村 滋 延, Nakamura Shigenobu, born in 1950 in Osaka, Osaka Prefecture) is a Japanese composer.

Life

Studied at Shigenobu Nakamura at the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music on the main island Honshu and at the National Conservatory of Music in Munich.

He wrote far more than 100 works of various genres, including 10 orchestral works and three symphonies. In the late 1980s he has enthusiastically focused on the creation of theater and stage music with the aid of the computer. Some of these compositions have been provided with international awards, such as the ICMC, University of Singapore ( 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2003) and the Center for Art and Media Technology - ZKM - Karlsruhe (1998). His visual works have been awarded, including the International Prize for Video Art in Germany (1995 and 1996), the " l' immagine leggera " Palermo International Video Art Festival Italy 1997.

In 1997 and 1998 he was an artist at the Center for Art and Media Technology - ZKM - Karlsruhe. Shigenobu Nakamura is also a professor at the Kyoto College of Arts and the Institute of Acoustics Design of Kyushu University.
