Shigeo Kurata (Japanese仓田 重 夫Shigeo Kurata ) is a Japanese botanist and taxonomist. His studies are particularly the species of pitcher plants ( Nepenthes ); four recognized species of the genus, including Nepenthes campanulata were first described by him. His botanical author abbreviation is " Sh.Kurata ".
