Shih Chien University

The Shih- Chien University ( USC) (Chinese实践 大学, English Shih Chien University) is a private university in Taiwan.

The university is located in Dazhi, Zhongzheng District, Taipei, and the District Neimen of Kaohsiung City.

History

The Shih Chien University was founded in 1958 by Tung -Min Shieh as " Shih Chien College of Home Economics ." In 1979 the college was renamed " Shih Chien College of Home Economics and Economics", 1991, the college was renamed " Shih Chien College of Design and Management". In 1995, the Kaohsiung Campus was established. In 1997, the school got its present name " Shih Chien University ".

At the Kaohsiung Campus approximately 5,000 students and at the Taipei Campus are taught 7,000 students in 16 degree programs and six graduate programs in 14 bachelor's and master's degrees. From 1958 to 2005 approximately 53,000 students have graduated at the university.

Together with the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg -Schweinfurt a part-time MBA program is offered. Since 1991, a postgraduate Master's program is implemented together with the Cologne International School of Design, University of Applied Sciences Cologne.
