Shika Wakashū

Shika- Wakashū (Japanese词 花 和 歌集also:词 花 集Shikashū, literally collection of poetic flowers) is a waka anthology from the late Heian period of Japan, compiled 1151-1154.

The anthology was compiled by order of the already detached Tennō Sutoku (1119-1164) of Fujiwara no Akisuke ( 1090-1155 ). The anthology includes 10 rolls with a total of 411 Waka. Due to the free and imaginative style Toshiyoris the Tennō dismissed the first two designs. Among all compiled on the orders of Tennō waka anthologies that Shika Wakashū is the shortest.
