The Parasnath is 1,365 m the highest mountain in the Indian state of Jharkhand and is a major pilgrimage for the religious community of Jainism.
The mountain is located in the east of Hazaribag plateau. It is named after Parashvanatha, 23 Thirthankara the Jains, who reached to a legend, after the Nirvana. On the mountaintop are 24 temples, symbolizing the 24 Thirthankaras the Jains. They can be reached from the village of Madhuban with a 11 km walk.
