Shimmer Chinodya

Shimmer Chinodya ( * 1957 in Gweru in the Midlands of today's Zimbabwe) lives as a writer and screenwriter in Zimbabwe. He published novels and children's books since 1982. His novel, Harvest of Thorns (1989 ), 1990 winner of the Commonwealth Writers Prize, appeared as a mandrel 1991 harvest in German. In 2000 Chinodya was nominated for the novel Can We Talk for the Caine Prize. In 2005 he received the Zimbabwean publisher price for the children's book Tale of Tamari and 2007, the Noma Prize for African Writing for his novel Strife ( 2006), which appeared under the title discord in German in 2010.
